The safety training program is designed to familiarize participants with the requirements of standard CSA Z462-15 “Workplace Electrical Safety”, the warning labels and the personal protective equipment that are part of the standard. Training will be provided depending on the function of the participants within the facility. Safety training is aimed at all those who have access to the electrical equipment: engineers, electricians, technicians, operators, etc. Health and safety officials and personnel responsible of the electrical installations must ensure that everyone who has access to energized equipment is trained to identify the signs and the correct understanding of the information displayed therein.
The main objective of this training is to present the new CSA Z462-15 standard regarding the operation and maintenance of electrical installations. At the end of this course participants will be able to: understand and explain health and safety aspects associated with electrical installations, describe the effects associated with the risk of electrical shock and arc flash, identify risks concerning electrical installations and how to plan appropriate preventive measures (electrical safety plan), including warning labels and PPE and evaluate the impacts of the CSA Z462-15 standard on the operation and maintenance of existing facilities, as well as the changes in the electrical installations.
