Motor starting studies aim to analyze the impact in a network when a large motor starts. The motor starting simulation shows if the motor actually starts. It also shows the effect on the voltage and on the inrush motor time-current curve. The motor modeling its start-up curves and that of the starting method is very important to the validity of the simulation and the analysis that follows. Thermal curves of the motors are also considered for the motor starting analysis in order to use the thermal capacity adequately, thereby ensuring an extended equipment lifetime. The voltage profile analysis during motor starting and the analysis of the torque – acceleration speed characteristic is part of this study. The thermal data is used to assist the motor protection relay in the programming of the thermal image. Our experts have extensive experience in modeling motors started direct-on-line and different existing motor starters types.
